Terms & Conditions (February 2026)

“City Sporting Group” (CSG): The organizing body and its representatives responsible for hosting and managing the football sessions.
“Session”: Any single football match, kick-about, or event organized and hosted by CSG.
“The App”: Refers to the Spond mobile application and desktop platform used for bookings and communication.
“Stripe”: The third-party payment processor used within the App to handle all financial transactions.
“Participant” / “Player”: Any individual aged 25 or over who has registered and/or paid to attend a Session.
“The Venue”: The physical pitch, changing rooms, and facility grounds where the Session takes place

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By booking, paying for, or attending any Session hosted by City Sporting Group, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not participate.

2. Player Eligibility and Registration

  • Age Requirement: CSG operates on a 25+ basis. All Players must be at least 25 years of age. We reserve the right to request proof of age (ID).
  • Spond Registration: All Players must register via the App, providing accurate details and a valid emergency contact before their first Session.
  • Capacity: Participation is subject to availability and is managed on a “per-session” basis through the App.

3. Health and Safety

  • Fitness to Play: Players are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit for recreational football.
  • Medical Advice: If you have any underlying medical conditions, allergies, or injuries, it is your sole responsibility to seek advice from a doctor or medical professional before participating in a Session.
  • Assumption of Risk: Football is a physical sport with inherent risks. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree that you play entirely at your own risk.
  • Protective Gear: The use of shin guards is highly recommended.

4. Code of Conduct and Social Standard

  • The “City Sporting” Vibe: This is a social, recreational group. The focus is on fitness and fun. Aggressive, reckless, or “over-competitive” behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Zero Tolerance: CSG reserves the right to remove and permanently ban any Player who displays violent, abusive, or threatening behavior.
  • Substance Policy: No alcohol or illegal substances are permitted at the Venue or during play.

5. Bookings, Payments, and Refunds

  • Spond Bookings: All bookings and spot allocations are managed exclusively through the App.
  • Payments: Payments must be made at the time of booking within the App via Stripe. A spot is only considered “secured” once the Stripe transaction is complete. Cash or on-site payments are not accepted.
  • Cancellation Policy: * Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the Session are eligible for a refund.
    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the Session are non-refundable.
  • Manual Refund Process: We are unable to process refunds directly through the App. All eligible refunds will be issued via Bank Transfer. It is the Player’s responsibility to provide the Organizer with their bank details to facilitate this.

6. Events Outside of Our Control (Force Majeure)

CSG reserves the right to cancel any Session due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include, but are not limited to: extreme weather conditions, sudden Venue closures, pitch maintenance, or local emergencies. In such instances, a refund or session credit will be issued in accordance with Section 6.

7. Liability Waiver

City Sporting Group, its organizers, and the Venue owners shall not be held liable for any personal injuries, illnesses, or the loss/damage of personal property sustained during or as a result of the Session.

8. Photography and Data Privacy

  • Media: We may take photos or videos for marketing or social media purposes. Please inform the Organizer on-site if you do not wish to be included.
  • Privacy: Your data is used strictly for organizing sessions via the App and ensuring safety. We do not share information with third parties.

10. Venue Rules and Footwear

  • Facility Respect: Please respect the Venue and staff. Dispose of all litter in the bins provided.
  • No Smoking: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on the pitch or within the facility.
  • Footwear Requirements: Requirements vary depending on the pitch surface. Specific footwear requirements will be listed on an event-by-event basis within the App. It is the Player’s responsibility to check the event description before attending. Players wearing incorrect footwear may be refused play without a refund.

11. Insurance

City Sports Group LTD maintains a comprehensive Public Liability Insurance policy with a limit of indemnity of £10,000,000. While this policy covers the liability of the company, Participants are encouraged to maintain their own personal accident insurance if they require individual cover for sports-related injuries
